aloha!!! kamusta!!! hello!!!

welcome to ed pingol photography. i am a wedding photographer, based in the san francisco bay area, photographing events and sessions locally and at destinations world-wide. i specialize in creating dramatic imagery and documenting the humor, joy, tears, and excitement of a bride & groom's unique wedding day. i love to work with people who are as passionate about photography as i am but most importantly, are down to have fun! this blog features images from weddings, engagement sessions, aftershoot sessions, senior graduation portrait sessions, maternity sessions, newborn and child portrait sessions, and family photo sessions. brides and grooms can take advantage of the always growing list of resources to help find inspirations for their own wedding. we also have a section for photographers just starting out.

i hope this will give everyone a sense of who i am, what i do, and what i am all about. =)

mahalo!!!

jorge's family portrait session | vallejo - california

commentator: san francisco wedding photographer

when i shoot family sessions, i usually try to make it more about fun than anything else because when people are having fun, their true self comes out. and when their true self comes out, it make it easier to shoot who they really are. this family for example is VERY FUN and LOVING. i had a great time joking around, laughing and capturing their true personalities. happy birthday jorge!!!

Update: SOLD OUT!!! Ed Pingol presents at PPGBA's April Four Nights Workshops: Lighting!

UPDATE: PPGBA sold out all spots for this awesome series in just 10 days! can't wait to meet all of you who are attending. mahalo! last november, i had the pleasure of speaking at the professional photographers of the greater bay area (ppgba) annual sustaining members night. it was a huge turnout and i had a blast talking about my passion and meeting you all! here's a photo from the event:

next month, i'll be presenting at ppgba's april four nights workshops on lighting, a collection of 4 weekly presentations by various photographers, including jade studio productions, joerg lehmann, and anna kuperberg. i'm so excited to be presenting on tuesday, april 20th at 7 p.m.! i highly recommend signing up early as these workshops get filled up pretty quickly. i attended a series a couple of years ago and found it incredibly helpful as the workshops were small and intimate, allowing for a great opportunity to network with the other attending photographers and ask questions of the speakers. for more info and to register, click here.

hope to see you there!!!

jennie and ryan's wedding - livermore | california

This wedding is another really fun one to add to the books. Jennie is one the sweetest and uplifting person I know. Seriously, if you're lucky enough to know her you'll know what I mean. Just being around her just puts a smile on your face... talk about getting lucky cause people like her is a breeze to shoot. Ryan is a lucky guy. He still hasn't told me how she tricked her into marrying her. =) Kidding... but he is very lucky to have a person like Jennie on his side.

This couple likes... scratch that, LOVES wine. Like a lot. Of course good people with good company is always good fun, like this wedding. Very very fun to shoot. Thank you Jennie and Ryan for sharing your special day with the Pingol Clan. =)
